The "Nook"
Disney ABC Television Network's in-house studio.
Tasked with operationalizing our newly built live action capture stage, there were many items on the to-do list. One was to design a logotype for the studio. Once up and running, I would oversee this studio, so there was some incentive to get it right.
Design inspiration was taken from the physical characteristics and functionality of the cameras and lenses we would use in the studio. Aperture, focal length, FOV, film plane. I took que's from the icons, diagrams and schematics used to explain the relationships and functionality of cameras. Many designs were explored, and narrowed down to three. Design #2 was the favorite among the team. Mine as well. Today it's getting good use in the studio.
